PURPOSE:To avoid cracking and damage of a contact for a connector by annealing a part of a sheet metal material with strong spring characteristics to make a relatively weak spring characteristic portion, and having this annealed portion included in a solder tail. CONSTITUTION:A sheet metal material 50 has strong spring characteristics. By partially annealing this sheet metal material 50, the sheet metal material has a relatively weak spring characteristic portion, in other words annealed portion 54. Therefore, the sheet metal material 50 has a relatively strong spring characteristic portion 52 and a relatively weak spring characteristic portion 54. From this sheet metal material 50, a contact 51 which is integrally composed of: a contact section 12 for making elastical contact with the contact section of a counter part connector; a support section 18 which is provided continuously under the contact section 12; and a solder tail 13 which is provided continuously under the support section 18 is formed by blanking. By this construction, resilience to lift housing can be controlled, and cracks and damage can be avoided. |
