PURPOSE:To keep the stock removal of a workpiece such as a crystal piece or the like constant and thereby improve the extent of production efficiency by connecting each hollow part of balls to be adjoined on a straight line, forming a spherical cylinder, and constituting it to polish the workpiece in reciprocation as rolling it inside the spherical cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A polisher 3 is formed into a spherical cylinder that is made up of connecting each hollow part of balls 9a-9d being adjoined and arranging them in a straight line. With rotation of this polisher 3, its double end sides are rocked up or down, whereby crystal pieces (a kind of a workpiece) 1 housed in bulk inside this spherical cylinder are reciprocated in this spherical cylinder in the connecting direction of these hollow parts. Simultaneously with this reciprocation, these crystal pieces 1 receive centrifugal force by revolution of the polisher 3 and turn around in an inner wall of the polisher 3. In consequence, even in the case that each radius of curvature in these balls 9a-9d is not completely accord with one another, stock removal of each crystal piece comes to almost constant with reciprocation inside the spherical cylinder, so that these crystal pieces 1 are efficiently polished and thus produced. |
