The wishbone boom consists of a rear and a front boom section, whose spar sections (1, 2) telescope into one another. The outer diameter of the inner spar section (1) is considerably smaller than the inner diameter of the outer spar section (2), which is rigidly connected to a bushing (3) of the same inner diameter. A projection (4) is formed on the inner wall of the bushing (3), which can enter one of several axially spaced recesses (5) of the inner spar section (1), as desired. The height of the projection (4) is slightly smaller than the distance from the upper surface (6) of the inner spar section (1) to the lower surface (7) of the bushing (3), so that the inner spar section (1) can move freely in the axial direction in its unlocked state. Diametrically opposite the projection (4), a pivoting bell-crank lever (8) is located on the bushing (3); in locking position, its locking arm (10) extends into the interior of the bushing (3) so that the inner spar section (1) engaging with the projection (4) is locked. The inner spar section (1) cannot be blocked by grains of sand or the like in the outer spar section (2) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
