The invention relates to a process for producing shells, panels, etc. from highly contaminated recycled plastic materials by homogeneous bonding of separately prefabricated parts, the boundary surfaces to be welded being plasticated in a relatively deep region by short-wave infrared radiation and subsequently being pressed against one another in the manner of a butt-welding process known per se. During the welding process, the parts in question to be welded are set into precisely defined oscillations and specific frequency.
