PURPOSE:To facilitate prepn. of a magnetic toner having minute particle size and to make magnetic characteristics of the toner uniform by depositing magnetic iron oxide particles derived from magnetotactic bacteria to the toner particles. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic iron oxide powder derived from magnetotactic bacteria is deposited to toner particles. Since the bacteria contain plural numbers (10 - several tens) magnetic bodies in the cell, the magnetic bodies are used as magnetic particles after separating the magnetic bodies consisting of iron oxide from the bacteria. The magnetic bodies have superior characteristics in its extremely fine and uniform particle size and high purity. In an electroconductive magnetic toner contg. magnetic iron powder derived from magnetotactic bacteria deposited as magnetic particles contributing also as an electroconductive material to the periphery of the toner particles, the particle size of the toner can be made minute by balancing the particle size of the toner to the particle size of the magnetic bodies. Thus, an electroconductive magnetic toner capable of providing a picture image of high quality is obtd. because of high purity, uniform particle size and quality of the magnetic bodies used therein. |
