PURPOSE:To suppress the variation of air fuel ratio by memorizing the generated quantity of evaporated fuel on engine stop and reducing the opening degree of a flow rate control valve in an evaporated fuel feeding passage as the evaporated fuel quantity on engine stop is larger, in the purge starting period of the evaporated fuel on engine restart. CONSTITUTION:A canister 1 connected with a fuel tank 2 through an introducing pipe 3 is connected to an intake passage 4 through a leading-out pipe 5. Midway in the leading-out pipe 5, a flow rate control valve 8 controlled by the duty signal supplied from a control unit 10 is interposed. The flow rate control valve 8 is controlled so that the opening degree is increased in the high load operation state according to the engine revolution speed and load. In this case, in the purge starting period after the engine restart, the opening degree of the flow rate control valve 8 is corrected so as to be reduced as the evaporated fuel quantity on engine stop is larger, according to the generation quantity of the evaporated fuel which is memorized on engine stop.
