PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the water content of an open-freighted heap of a granular material such as, for example, wooden powder, which is stored on a yard for a long period, by constituting the bed of the yard with a water-drainable base layer, a porous hard surface layer and a water-filtering layer disposed therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The bed of a yard for open-freighting and heaping up, for a long period, a granular material such as for example, a mineral such as coal or wooden powder is composed of a water-drainable base layer 1 which is arranged on or in the ground E, a porous hard surface layer 2 on which an open-freighted heap M is loaded and a water-filtering layer 3 disposed between the former both layers 1, 2. In this arrangement, broken pieces of rocks or the like are used for the base layer 1, unglazed bricks or the like for the surface layer 2 and sand or the like for the filtering layer 3. With this arrangement, the drainage function of the heap may be maintained for a long time to reduce the water content of the heap on storing, and as well to restrain the rise of the water content even in the raining season. |
