PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the title unit by forming >=2 devices among a surface sequential light source unit and simultaneous and surface sequential image pickup controllers as independent units so that a power source part is shared. CONSTITUTION:A lamp power source 31A in a common power unit 31 supplies electric power to white light source units 13 and 14 of the simultaneous and surface sequential image pickup devices through dimming circuits 18 and 25 and a power source 31B for others supplies electric power to the dimming circuits 18 and 25, controllers 26 and 27, and others. Then light projected by a light source lamp 19 passes through a primary color rotary filter 22 and then a condenser lens 23, a light guide 6, and an orienting lens 7 to irradiate an object. Its reflected light forms its image on a solid-state image pickup element 9 through an objective lens 8. Its output signal is inputted to a control circuit 27 through a preamplifier 11 and a signal line 12 to display an image on a monitor 29. Light from a lamp 15, on the other hand, radiates the object through a condenser lens 16, the light guide 6, and the lens 7. Its reflected light passes through a lens 8 and a color mosaic optical filter 10 to form its image on the element 9, thereby obtaining an image signal.
