发明名称 METHOD FOR REMOVING IODINE IN USED NUCLEAR FUEL SOLUTION
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To decrease the environmental release of iodine and to lower the amt. of waste to be generated as well as to reduce running and equipment costs by bringing nitric acid in which used nuclear fuel is dissolved into contact with active carbon attached with AgCl or PbCl2. CONSTITUTION:The nitric acid in which the used nuclear fuel is dissolved is gathered through an inlet line 1 into a soln. receiving tank 2 and is fed by a soln. feed pump 3 through an inlet line 4 of an inorg. ion exchanger packed column into the inorg. ion exchanger packed column 5 where the iodine is adsorbed and removed. The active carbon attached with AgCl or PbCl2 is packed in the column 5 and the soln. is brought into contact with this active carbon. The iodine (the chemical form is IO3<->) remaining in the soln. comes into contact with the surface of the active carbon which is the inorg. ion exchanger, by which part thereof is reduced to I2 and IO3<-> is subjected to an exchange with an exchange group Cl<->. I2 is adsorbed by physical adsorption to the active carbon. The active carbon adsorbed of the iodine is ejected from an outlet line 6 of the inorg. ion exchanger and is sent to a solidifying device, by which the stable solidified matter is obtd.</p>
