The control heats a hot-water tank from a heat source using switched reference temperatures. Within a controlled time span, t2-t1, before the point t1 at which the ref. is switched to a lower value when the actual temp. reaches the reference, the rate of change of the actual temp. is measured. The heat supply to the tank (1) is discontinued before the reference-switching point (t1) if the rate of temp. change will lead to an acceptable deviation between reference and actual temperatures at the switching point, t1. The same principle may be used for heating a room, the tank being replaced by the room. |
