PURPOSE:To reproduce an image faithful to an original image by not performing the round-off processing in a digital operation means placed in the preceding stage but performing the round-off processing in a digital operation means placed in the final stage. CONSTITUTION:In a digital image data processing device having plural digital operation means connected in a column, at least one digital operation means in the preceding stage does not perform the round-off processing but the digital operation means in the final stage performs the round-off processing. Operation errors due to digital operation in individual digital operation processing circuits are minimized and are constituted in series and are converted to a required number of image data bits by the digital operation processor, thereby improving the image quality of a multilevel image.
