PURPOSE:To efficiently and safely feed steel fibers in a low pressure feed device for mixing the steel fibers into mortar, by drawing the steel fibers into a high speed air jet stream after being defibered, so that the fibers are dispersed, and then by conveying the fibers in a lower pressure air stream. CONSTITUTION:Steel fibers weighed by a predetermined amount are charged into a hopper 14. Then, the fibers are fed onto a vibrating sieve 13 so as to defiber entanglement of the fibers, and are then dropped into a chute 1 through the meshes of the sieve. Then, the fibers reaches a position at which they enter into a nozzle 2. Meanwhile, low pressure air discharged from a blower 8 is led into the nozzle 2 in a mixer 3 through an air feed pipe line 9, and is jetted from the nozzle 2. Accordingly, suction force is produced so that the steel fibers having reached the nozzle 2 are led into and dispersed in the air stream. Further, the fiber dispersing low pressure stream is fed to a predetermined position through a conveying pipe 4. With this arrangement, it is possible to safely and efficiently feed the steel fibers.
