Rear view mirror system with continuously adjustable reflection

A rear view mirror system which operates according to the principle of dynamic dazzle reduction by reducing reflection permits continuous adjustment of reflection. It consists of 1 to 3 electrochromic rear view mirrors, one sensor and one electronic drive system. It is equipped in such a way that by means of a variable voltage at the electrodes of the electrochromic thin-film packet a continuous adjustment of the reflectivity of the rear view mirror is set. In this process, the light strength indicated by the sensor is converted into associated reflection values, the adaptation capability of the eye is taken into account in respect of the speed with which the reflection is changed, the warning function of brief dazzle processes (headlamp flasher) is not restricted and adaptation of the reflection to changed light/dazzle conditions is ensured during the adjustment process.
