PURPOSE:To enable deceleration of an engine according to driver's will, by providing a compensating means which can compensate an amount of axle torque reduced by a stop of fuel supply through control of an opening amount of an intake air throttle valve, in decelerated running with cut fuel. CONSTITUTION:In running of an internal combustion engine M2, an intake air throttle valve M3 is controlled by a throttle valve control means M4 according to operator's indication detected by an indication detecting means M1. A fuel supply means M6 is controlled and then a fuel amount supplied in an intake air is controlled, according to the detected result of an intake air amount detecting means M5. Furthermore, when a running status detected by a running status detecting means M7 of the internal combustion engine M2 is same as a preset running status (decelerated running at a downhill road etc.), fuel supply by the fuel supplying means M6 is stopped by a stopping means M8. In case of this fuel stop, an mount of axle torque decreased by a fuel stop is compensated by controlling an opening amount of the intake air throttle valve M3 by a compensating means M9.
