PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a barrel type blasting device by forming at least a portion of the side wall of a barrel into a door rotary openable/closable from the outside of a blast chamber, thereby making a blasted work dischargable to the outside of the blast chamber without requiring inversion of the barrel in the blast chamber. CONSTITUTION:A work in a barrel 9 is blasted uniformly by blasting material S being ejected through a nozzle 3 while being agitated through rotation of the barrel 9. When blasting is finished, a piston rod 31 in an air cylinder 30 retracts to open the side wall sections 9b, 9b of the barrel 9. Blasted work falls from the barrel 9 down into a work discharge shoe through an opening which is formed through opening motion of the side wall 9b, and discharged as it is to the outside of the blast chamber 1.
