PURPOSE:To improve battery life by using a pair of divided cases which are formed so that metallic plates facing a power generation element are coated with resin films and peripheral parts of the metallic plate are buried in resin frames, and by housing the power generation element into the paired divided cases and fusing the resin frames of the respective divided cases together so as to form an enclosed state. CONSTITUTION:A lead part 6 which is protruded from a lead taking-out port 4 is spot-welded with a terminal plate 7 and mounted on a terminal mounting part 8 so that a cathode terminal-fitted battery jar 3A is formed. In recessed parts which are provided with a collector plate 5 and made in this cathode terminal-fitted battery jar 3A and in an anode terminal-fitted battery jar 3B manufactured in the same way as the battery jar 3A, a glass separator 10 impregnated with an electrolytic solution of dilute sulfuric acid is interposed by electrode active materials 9 which are filled with slurry of lead oxide and bonding agent and dried. A safety valve 12 is mounted on a safety valve mounting part 11 which is formed in the cathode battery jar 3a, and resin frames of the anode and cathode battery jars are jointed together in a state hermetic to air and liquid by supersonic fusing. Thus, storage life of the battery can be improved. |
