MICROBICIDAL COMPOSITIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE

A novel germicidal and inhibitary composition for industrial use contains 8:1-1:28 ratio of 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dithiol-3-one (DDO) and 1,2-benzisothiazolin (BITO) by wt.. Hydrophilic org. solvent i.e. DMF, glycoles and dispersant i.e. cationic, anionic or nonionic surface active agent are also contd. in the novel compsn. When e.g. 0.8% (W/W) of DDO, 10.0% of BITO, 89.0% of diethylene glycolemonomethylether and 0.2% of tetronic 702 are added into papermaking machine for 6hrs continuously to be 0.8ppm of DDO and 10 ppm of BITO after cleaning, there is no split on paper caused by slime after 4-week-run operations.
