The invention relates to a single-piece contact tip (contact nozzle, current contact tip) for arc welding using a melting (burning) filler wire (filling wire additive welding filler wire). The essential novel characteristics of the invention are that the blank (green body) for the contact tip consists of unsintered powder mix compact - composed of at least one ferrous-metal material with the electric conductor material - having a density of more than 90% of the theoretical density of the material. Owing to a different type of internal construction of the tip in the wire guide region and the current contact region, a long service life of the contact tip is achieved.
