PURPOSE:To efficiently treat waste water, by applying wet oxidation to waste water under a specific temp. and pressure condition using composite oxide and a compound of Mn or Fe as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:75-99.95wt% of composite oxide composed of two kinds of elements selected from titanium, silicon and zirconium (e.g., TiO2-SiO2, TiO2-ZrO2) and 0.05-25wt% of a compound of Mn or Fe are added to waste water as a catalyst. Next, molecular oxygen, ozone and hydrogen peroxide are blown in waste water under such a condition that reaction temp. is 100-370 deg.C and reaction pressure is pressure holding waste water to a liquid phase (e.g., reaction temp. is 260 deg.C and reaction pressure is 75kg/cm<2>) to perform wet treatment. By this method, an org. substance can be decomposed with high efficiency.
