<p>A machine for hot and/or cold treatment of lumps of material, in particular a drum-type drier for farinaceous foodstuffs, has a plurality of drum chambers (6) distributed around the circumference of the drum. Each drum chamber (6) is closed in a known manner by a perforated screen (8, 10) on the inner and outer circumference of the drum, to allow air or another processing gas to pass through. A retaining means and above all a clamping means is mounted on at least one of the perforated screens (8, 10), axially and/or circumferentially subdividing at least one of the perforated screens (8, 10) around the circumference of the drum (1), preferably at least the outer one (10). Preferably each drum chamber (6) is provided with a separate perforated screen (10) that can be clamped by a clamping means.</p> |
