PURPOSE:To improve durability without deteriorating a high-density recording characteristic by passing a work formed by depositing a thin ferromagnetic film on a high-polymer film through a satd. vapor pressure atmosphere of a solvent under projection of electron rays thereto. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating agent 3 such as, for example, stearic acid, is housed into a lubricating agent heating vessel 4 in a treatment chamber 2 where the lubricating agent 3 is heated. The inside of the treatment chamber is evacuated 8 to a vacuum to maintain the satd. vapor pressure atmosphere of the lubricating agent 3 in said chamber. While the work 1 formed by depositing the thin ferromagnetic metallic film on the high-polymer film is passed through the inside of such treatment chamber, the electrons are projected thereto by an electron gun 12. As a result, the lubricating agent 3 penetrates thoroughly among the columnar particles of the thin metallic film and react strongly when projected by the electron rays. The satisfactory durability is thus obtd. with the small amt. of the lubrication without deteriorating the high-density recording characteristic.
