摘要 PURPOSE:To expand the scale of the channel of an optical exchange and to simplify constitution by executing light transmission using light heterodyne and light homodyne detection. CONSTITUTION:A titled device includes at least one set of a light reception part and a light transmission part as follows, the light reception part which demodulates a reception signal 14 from an electrical signal 11 obtained by converting the composed light 9 by a photodetector 10 after composing a signal light 2 and a local oscillation light 5 from a local oscillation light source 21 which respective subscriber terminals 100a and 100b can tune, and the transmis sion part which includes a modulation means and a light source which oscillates the light in a single wavelength whose oscillation line width is less than at least 10MHz at the time of transmitting signals. And among plural subscriber terminals connected one another the wavelength of the light source in the light transmission part is controlled so as not to be equal. Thus the connection be tween the subscribers is executed in two-way transmission of the light hetero dyne and the light homodyne systems through the light exchange and the scale of the channel can be enlarged and the terminals can be simplified.
