PURPOSE:To mechanically perform judgement, by a method wherein the power spectrum of unknown sound is compared respectively with the standard pattern of a leak sound of water and that of analogous sound to judge whether the unknown sound is steady sound or unsteady sound. CONSTITUTION:The unknown sound generated on a road surface is collected by a pickup 1 and a frequency analyzing part 2 calculates the power spectrum of the unknown sound to output the same to a pattern comparing part 3, where the analogous degrees of the power spectrum 12 of the unknow sound with plural kinds of the standard patterns stored in a water leak sound standard pattern memory part 4, and an analogous sound standard pattern memory part 5 are respectively calculated to be outputted. An unsteady sound detection part 6 investigates the timewise variation of the power contained in an unknown sound signal 11 and judges that the unknown sound is unsteady sound when timewise variation is large and judges that the unknown sound is steady sound when small. A judge part 7 judges whether the unknown sound is water leak sound or analogous sound and the judge result is outputted as a discrimination result 13. |
