NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R represents side chain of amino acid constituting a polypeptide derived from casein; n is 3-20). USE:An additive for cosmetics for hair, used by blending into a shampoo, hair rinse, etc., and capable of preventing hair damage caused by surfactants and imparting high flexibility and natural gloss to the hair and reducing the amount of a conventional quaternary ammonium salt used. PREPARATION:For example, 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl-trimethylammonium chloride (CTA) expressed by formula III is dripped into an aqueous solution of a casein-derived polypeptide expressed by formula II preferably of 10-50% concentration, and reacted therein. The dripping of the CTA is completed preferably within 30min-6hr and the reaction is preferably conducted at 9-11pH and <=60 deg.. The casein-derived polypeptide can be obtained by hydrolyzing cow milk casein, etc. |
