PURPOSE:To facilitate assembling a device and reduce the cost and miniaturize the device by providing a light receiving element held on the inside of a holder on the rear face of an attenuator and setting the thickness of a stopper and the attenuator so that the quantity of light received by the light receiving element is not reduced except attenuation by the attenuator. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from an optical fiber in the ferrule of an optical connector connected to a receptacle body 1 is attenuated as prescribed by an attenuator 6 and is received by a light receiving element 7. At this time, the emitted light from the optical connector is received by the light receiving element 7 without being reduced except attenuation by the attenuator 6 because the thickness of a stopper 5 and the attenuator 6 is sufficiently thin and the light reception area of the light receiving element 7 is sufficiently wide. Thus, it is unnecessary to align optical fibers, and the alignment work is scarecely required because the emitted light from the optical connector is coupled in the wide light reception surface. |
