PURPOSE:To make it possible to select freely a material and the shape of surface of a molding by a method wherein a pair of separate ends, in the interior or on the surface of which metallic bodies are provided, are molded so as to preferentially heat the abutted separate ends by induction heating, which are put into a state abutted against each other, with high frequency electric power in a manufacturing method of a molding, which is employed as a side molding attached on the side surface of a car body, a bumper molding attached to the bumper and the like of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:A gutter-shaped cover member 1 and a base member 2 of a plate shape in continuous form are molded, for example, out of polyvinyl chloride with an injection molder. The molded cover member 1 has a near trapezoidal shape in section and three bank-like ribs 10 extending in the long direction. The base member 2 has, at an end thereof, a projecting strip part 20, in the groove of which a stainless steel bright layer 21 having a U-shape in cross section is engagedly held. Next, the cover member 1 is seated onto the surface of the base member 2 in such a manner that the tip part of the rib 10 abuts against the surface of the base member 2 and a high frequency voltage is applied to the cover member and the base member. The cover member 1 and the base member 2 are integrally welded and the bright layer 21 and the projecting strip part 20 are also integrally welded. By employing the above-mentioned method, primary molded bodies can be molded by methods except extrusion, and the material and shape of a molding can freely be selected.
