PURPOSE:To update part of large capacity data with less software load by setting an update address to an address setting area of update data and writing the update data so as to read a data buffer thereby suppressing the consumption of medium. CONSTITUTION:A data part 11 of each sector of a medium is split and an address of the update data is set in an area 11a. In recognizing a data update processing request of a host device by the data buffer, the update address is set in the area 11a and the update data are written in the sector. In retrieving the update sector and recognizing the said sector to be update sector, the update data are read in the data buffer from the sector address set in the area 11a. Thus, the update processing of the data on a medium to suppress the consumption of the medium and the load to the software is relieved to apply the update of lots of capacity of data.
