<p>PURPOSE:To enable VVVF inverter current to be kept constant regardless of the running direction of an electric rolling stock, by dividing a multilayer- winding linear induction motor into two almost equal groups, and by arranging the groups symmetrically in opposite directions in relation to the running direction of the electric rolling stock. CONSTITUTION:DC power is obtained from a DC power source 10 via a pantograph 11, and is fed to a variable voltage/variable frequency VVVF inverter 15 via a filter circuit consisting of a filter reactor 12 and a filter condenser 14. From the inverter 15, the AC power of specified voltage/specified frequency is fed to two units of linear motors 5A and 5B. The linear motors 5A and 5B are organized in the same manner, and are arranged in the opposite directions in relation to the running direction. Of three-phase connection, two- phase connection only is interchanged. As a result, regardless of the running direction, the output current of the inverter can be kept constant.</p> |
