摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a Ti-base material for spectacles frame capable of high- degree brazing and having superior plating suitability, by cladding the surface of a core material composed of Ti or Ti-base alloy with a sheathing material composed of an Ni-Cr-base alloy containing Cu or Ag. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the core material composed of Ti or Ti-base alloy is clad with the sheathing material composed of Ni-Cr-base alloy containing Cu or Ag. At this time, it is desirable that a Ti-base alloy containing >=about 90% Ti is used as the above Ti-base alloy, and further, it is preferable to use Ni-Cr-base alloys containing >=80% Ni as the above Ni-Cr-base alloy as they are lightweight and excellent in plastic workability. Moreover, appropriate contents of Cu and Ag are about 0.1-3% and about 0.01-2.5%, respectively and the desirable cladding ratio is about 0.7-0.99 by volume. In this way, the material for spectacles frame lightened in weight, excellent in brazing strength and corrosion resistance to perspiration, having superior plating suitability, and also having moderate bending strength can be obtained.
