摘要	PURPOSE:To produce a novel antibiotic substance expected to be useful as an antimicrobial agent such as antimycotic agent, antimold agent, various plant blight controlling agents, etc., and a carcinostatic agent, by culturing a novel microorganism belonging to Bacillus genus. CONSTITUTION:A novel microbial strain belonging to Bacillus genus and capable of producing one or more novel antibiotic substances selected from LI-F03, LI-F04, LI-F05, LI-F07 and LI-F08 [i.e. Bacillus polymyxa L-1129 strain (FERM P-8560)] is cultured preferably in a liquid medium under aerobic condition at about 5.5-8.5pH and about 15-45 deg.C and the objective novel antibiotic substances selected from LI-F03, LI-F04, LI-F05, Li-F07 and LI-F08 are separated from the cultured liquid. The antibiotic substance has growth-suppressing action against various molds, yeasts and Gram-positive bacteria and proliferation- inhibiting action against mouse leukemia cell.
