PURPOSE:To prevent sufficiently a photosensitive body from deterioration and separate a form securely by providing a form thickness detecting means and allowing a separating pawl to contact a charge holding member only when form the thickness larger than specific thickness is detected. CONSTITUTION:A form thickness detection signal circuit 32 performs an operation to a detection signal from a form thickness detecting means 31 by amplification, etc., to generate such a signal as to suit to a succeeding step circuit. A peeling pawl control signal circuit 33 compares the signal from the form thickness detection signal circuit 32 with a reference value and sends out a control signal for bringing the peeling pawl 18 into contact with a photosensitive drum 1 only when the detected form thickness is smaller than the specific value. Namely, when it is judged that the peeling force is not sufficient because the form thickness is smaller than the reference value, the peeling pawl 18 is set at an operation position to separate a form securely, and when it is judged that the peeling force is sufficient because the form thickness is larger than the reference value, the peeling pawl 18 is held peeleds from the photosensitive drum 1 and prevented from damaging the photosensitive durm 1. |
