PURPOSE:To prevent a loss of heating energy by a method wherein even if a heating of a driving member returned back to its memorized shape under a heating action, this memorized shape is kept and a first operation is maintained and after the driving member is cooled down to a value lower than a martensite deformation starting temperature, it is plastically deformed to return to its original shape, the deformation motion is transmitted to operated equipment to change over the equipment to a second operating condition. CONSTITUTION:When an electric circuit is closed to energize a driving member 1, a Joule heat is generated at the driving member 1 of shape memory alloy, it is heated more than a reverse deformation temperature and then either a coil shape or a linear shape having a wide pitch is tried to recovered as its stored shape. After a connection member 3 moves to a left position indicated by a solid line having a balanced force, it is stopped with this position kept. Then, an energization for an electromagnetic stopper solenoid coil 8 is stopped, a stop rod 9 released from its restricted condition under a magnetic retracting force is pushed out by a spring stored therein and occupies at the right side of a pin 4. In turn, an energization for the driving member 1 is also stopped under an off condition of a microswitch 6. Irrespective of a stoppage of energization of the driving member 1 and its cooling, it is maintained to its thermally deformed condition.
