PURPOSE:To stabilize combustion by preparing two intake valves in a cylinder, providing a swirl port and a straight port, arranging a fuel injection valve at the confluence part of both ports and directing the injecting direction of the fuel injection valve to the center of a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:One cylinder has two intake valves 101 and 102, a swirl port 25 in which swirl is formed in a combustion chamber is connected to the intake valve 101, and a straight port 27 in which intake flow for negating swirl is generated is connected to the intake valve 102. A fuel injection valve 28 is provided at the neighborhood of the confluence part of both ports, and the fuel injection is structurally directed to a sparking plug 20a at the center of a cylinder. At the time of a low load, an air intake is performed only from the swirl port 25, good atomization is achieved because fuel is injected in the direction in which the fuel injecting flow collides with the intake air flow, and sure ignition and combustion is performed because a rich mixture is formed near a plug. |
