In the case of a device for transmitting electrical signals, having a first rectangular conductor which consists of ferromagnetic material having a high permeability and through which an alternating current flows, it is proposed to fit a second electrical conductor, which is likewise rectangular and consists of ferromagnetic material having a high permeability, at a distance a from the first conductor, the distance a being dimensioned to be so small that the magnetic flux produced by the alternating current flowing in the first magnet conductor extends over the electrically insulating intermediate space to the second magnetic conductor, where the magnetic circuit is closed. Such a device forms a transformer, in the case of which the conductors which are used are utilised both for the electrical power supply and as the magnetic coupling material between the primary and secondary.
