PURPOSE:To enable a setting range of a cooking time to be expanded and a setting accuracy to be improved by a method wherein an interrupting process is performed in response to a pulse signal generated from an encoder in cooperation with an operating knob and the number of pulse signals are inputted as a cooking time setting information. CONSTITUTION:Outputs from terminals 21 and 22 of an encoder 10 are supplied to an interrupting input terminal INT of a microcomputer 30 through OR circuit 50. When an operating knob 5 is rotated, conductive brushes 16 and 17 arranged at a bar 12 are slidably contacted with projections 13a and 14a of conductive patterns 13 and 14. Then, a voltage is generated at resistors 18 and 19 and then outputted from the terminals 21 and 22 as a pulse signal. As a pulse signal is generated, an output of OR circuit 50 becomes a logical '1'. The microcomputer 30 may count a pulse signal as the logical '1' signal is inputted to the interrupting input terminal INT and then takes the counted value as a cooking time setting information. The inputted cooking time setting information is displayed at a displaying part 4. A user may set a desired cooking time by operating an operation knob 5 while seeing the display part 4.
