The collector equipment (B) extends in the usage position downwards and forwards against the direction of the water flowing towards the vessel, and when not in use can be stowed horizontally on deck. The vessel is formed as a container module, with standardized length, beam and freeboard dimensions. It has upper corner boxes (C) for handling by conventional container lifting equipment. It contains tanks for the collected oil spillage (E), displacement tanks, and tanks for cooling water and fuel for one or more engines (H). An operator cabin is provided, and the vessel bottom and bow are reinforced, allowing direct launching from a beach. The oil collection tanks can be provided with rubber bags in which collected oil can be removed. |
