PURPOSE:To obtain the satisfactory sound signals by regenerating and demodulating all PCM signals. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape is fed at a speed different from the recording speed and then reproduced by the 3rd head 82 for a video period. At the same time, the PCM signals regenerated at the side where the tracking coincidence is secured among the 4th heads 73A and 73B and the 5th heads 74A and 74B respectively are demodulated successively. These demodulated signals are read out by the clock of a frequency different from that of a recording mode equivalent to said tape feeding speed. Here a level different is secured among heads 73A and 73B and heads 74A and 74B and therefore it is possible to always obtain the normal regeneration signal from either one of those heads. These regeneration signals are decoded and read out continuously to obtain the continuous regenerating signals which are free from the omission and superposition.
