PURPOSE:To adjust the position of a light source without injecting any sample into a flow cell by switching the output of a detector for monitoring when a light source monitoring circuit is not in operation and the output of a detector for light measurement when the light source monitoring circuit is in operation. CONSTITUTION:When the position of the light source is adjusted at the time of light source replacement, a changeover switch SW 1 is connected to an off side and then a voltage (-HT) applied to the monitoring detector 4 and light measuring detector 7 becomes a constant voltage which does not depend upon variation in the quantity of light incident on the detector 4, so that the light source monitor circuit does not operate. Further, a changeover switch SW 2 is connected to the monitor side and the output of the detector 4 is outputted on a recorder through an amplifier 11. In this state, the position of the light source is so adjusted that the output to the recorder is maximum. Further, when the changeover switch SW 2 is connected to a light measurement side, the output of the light measuring detector 7 is outputted to the recorder through an amplifier 12.
