In a circuit arrangement (16, 17, 18) for contactlessly switching electrical devices, the sensor part (13) is a printed circuit (9). The pulse generator is an integrated circuit (7) having one to a number of signal inputs and having two to a number of signal outputs. One signal output is connected to one of the two metal plates (8) and the signal input is connected to the other one of the two metal plates (10). The second signal output (15), which outputs an output signal influenced by the input signal is simultaneously connected via a resistor and capacitor circuit (16) to an NPN (17) and a PNP (18) transistor which is followed by an NPN Darlington transistor, in such a manner that the three transistors (16, 17, 18') transform the output signal into in each case a single pulse of a particular length, which drives a switching element (20). <IMAGE>
