PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal battery whose ignition ability is remarkably improved by jointly molding an electrolyte layer and a positive mix layer having smaller diameter than a negative plate, and making the diameter of a heating agent layer the same as that of the negative plate to form a recess, and arranging a fuze belt so as to enter the recess. CONSTITUTION:The outer diameter of an electrolyte layer 4 and a positive mix layer 5 is made smaller than that of a negative plate 3 and a heating agent layer 6 to form a recess between the negative plate 3 and the heating agent layer 6. A fuze belt 7 is arranged so as to enter the recess. When pulse current is passed through an input terminals 13, a igniter 8 sparks to ignite the fuze belt 7 and burn the heating agent layer 6 in each layer. Thereby, the electrolyte layer is melted and electromotive force is generated. Electric power is drawn out from negative and positive terminals 10, 12 through a negative current collector 9 and a positive current collector 11. |
