In a writing device for a recording system by means of which, in particular, measurement quantities are recorded on a continuous writing surface, a plastic line provided with a capillary, the end of which is used as writing point, is carried from an ink container to the writing surface. The plastic line is supported slightly displaceably in its longitudinal axis by a guide tube in the pivoted lever. The free end with the writing point is attached to a guide cradle which is supported displaceably on a linear guide. The guide cradle is supported pivotably at the linear guide and is heavier on the side pointing towards the free end of the ink line than on the other side. Due to this design, effects of force of the relatively stiff plastic line on the contact pressure of the writing point can be compensated for.
