The invention relates to means for locating and marking points on especially an elongate metal moulding 2, a flat strip, a bracket, or some other open or tubular moulding. The locating means comprise a longitudinal bench 1 provided with means for positioning and immobilizing the moulding 2 as well as a marking tool 3. They further comprise a longitudinal graduated scale 15, a transverse graduated scale 10 and references 16, 19 which make it possible to position the tracing means 10 at longitudinal and transverse coordinates.
