The present invention relates to an improvement to a device for simultaneously cutting and treating a plant stem. The device according to the invention essentially comprises a cutting blade 9, a cutting-back blade 84 interacting with the cutting blade, a reserve (container) 19 of compressible treatment substance 20, a conduit 39 taking the substance to an orifice located on the cutting blade, a metering valve 52 located on the conduit 39, the valve being constituted by a piston 108 capable of sliding in a cylindrical housing in opposition to a compression spring 113 by means of gripping sleeves 13, 83 which are associated respectively with the two blades, the piston including a groove 109 capable of receiving a compressed quantity of substance when it faces a conduit portion 105 connected to the reserve (container) and of releasing, by expansion, a portion of the compressed quantity when it is facing the conduit portion 104 connected to the orifice. <IMAGE>
