The invention relates to new 2-(2-thienyl)imidazo(4,5-c)pyridine derivatives of the formula <IMAGE> I wherein R1 denotes lower alkyl, R2 denotes hydrogen or methyl and n denotes 0 or 1, and pharmaceutically usable acid addition salts thereof, a process for their preparation and pharmaceutical products containing these compounds. The new compounds and their salts have useful pharmacological properties, in particular a positively inotropic action on the heart, and can be used as active compounds for medicaments for the treatment of diseases of the heart and vessels, in particular myocardial insufficiency. |
