PURPOSE:To exclude and catch matters adhering on the surface of a disk and prevent wear of a head by making a slider face behind the minimum spacing position a slanted face of less than 4 deg. to the front slider face. CONSTITUTION:A rear edge tapered slider face 10 behind the minimum spacing position of a slider face 8 at the center of a floating head is slanted at less than 4 deg. to the slider face 8. Similarly, right and left slider faces 9 are also slanted at an angle of less than 4 deg.. When the head runs, an air current is generated between the slider face and media. In a conventional head, the air current is separated from the surface of the slider when it passed the minimum spacing position. The separation can be prevented by giving an angle of 4 deg.. Accordingly, matters less than 1mum in size adhering on the surface of media can be removed and caught and wear and breakage of the head can be prevented. |
