PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition suitable as an adhesive of the sheath resin and the metal in a laminate sheath cable, by compounding an ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer and a styrene polymer with a specific thermoplastic elastomer acting as the compatibilizing agent for both polymers. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 97-45pts.(wt.) of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a melt flow rate of 0.1-50g/10min and a vinyl acetate content of 5-30(wt)%, (B) 30-1pt. of a styrene polymer having a melt flow rate of 0.1-50g/10min, (C) 15-1pt. of modified polyethylene grafted with 0.01-10% unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative (preferably maleic acid, maleic anhydride, etc.) and (D) 30-1pt. of a monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbon-olefin block copolymer having the monovinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer block (preferably styrene block) on at least one of the terminals, preferably on both terminals. |
