PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a branch relaying device and to decrease the cost by branch-inserting the channel at a 64kHz channel base, and converting and outputting the branch channel into a sound signal at the codec part as it does. CONSTITUTION:A 24 channel signal sent at the communicating speed of 4.544MHz from a PCM terminal station 1 enters a PCM terminal station part 51 of a branch relaying device 5 through the line, is converted into the signal of the channel base of 64kHz at the PCM terminal station part 51 and enters a branch inserting part 53. At the branch inserting part 53, the processing such as which channel is relayed and branched is executed, the channel to be relayed is sent to the PCM terminal station part 52, converted to the signal of 1.544MHz and through a transmission line, sent to a PCM terminal station 2. On the other hand, the branch channel is sent to a codec part 54 and converted and outputted to the sound signal of the analog style. Thus, the equipment constitution of a branch relaying device is widely simplified.
