PURPOSE:To reduce adverse effects on printing and remove odor, by incorporat ing a decodorant into damping water for planography. CONSTITUTION:A deodorant, preferably, a composition comprising L-ascorbic acid and ferrous sulfate, ferrous chloride or ferrous nitrate, is added to damping water in the form of a solution. A good effect can be obtained by adding the deodorant having a weight ratio of Fe(II) in the Fe(II) compound to L-ascorbic acid in the range of 1:0.3-0.1 to damping water in an amount of 0.1-20wt%. The deodorant is mixed (emulsified) uniformly into an ink together with damping water. By the uniform emulsification of the damping water into the ink, the deodorant contained therein functions to remove odors from the ink. Simultaneously, the entire surface of a paper is dampened by contact with the damping water through a blanket during planographic printing, whereby an effect of removing odors arising from the paper can be displayed. |
