PURPOSE:To allow no unnatural force to act upon flat spring base materials during the working to obtain a supporting spring for an optical pickup in the straight state by inserting and holding a damper material between flat spring base materials preliminarily and etching flat spring base materials thereafter to form them into the shape of the supporting spring for the optical pickup. CONSTITUTION:A damper material 12 is inserted and held between two large flat spring base materials 11 and is adhered there, and a resist is applied in the shape of a supporting spring 10 by the printing means. Flat spring base materials 11 are etched with an etching liquid while leaving the shape of the supporting spring 10 as it is to form flat spring base materials 11 into the shape of the supporting spring 10 on both faces of the damper material 12. In the next process, the damper material 12 exposed between flat spring base materials 11 is cut by fusion to separate the supporting spring 10 for the optical pickup.
