EP lubricant additives comprise a major amt. of a chlorinated paraffin (I) and a minor amt. of an alkaline earth metal sulphonate (II). Pref. the additives comprise 30-70 vol.% (I), 30-70 vol.% mineral oil, mineral spirits or solvent, and 0.5-10 vol.% (II). Specifically an additive comprises 51.5 vol.% (I), 31 vol.% solvent, 15.5 vol.% mineral oil, 1 vol.% Ca sulphonate and 1 vol.% mineral spirits. |
